With collaborative efforts from Bharatiya Pranimitra Sangh, GHSPCA and volunteers, PFA has started the process of moving the camels home. After an 8 hour long effort of loading the camels into 21 trucks using a crane and a JCB, the journey to PFA Sirohi has finally begun today. They would be back to Rajasthan, back to the soft sands and back to the weather that they love!

For this success, on behalf of every camel that is going home; we would like to thank each and every donor for empathizing and supporting the cause. Our special thanks to the SP of Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy District, Hiten Shah of Kutchi Mitra Mandal, Manav mitra, volunteers of Muthi Bhar Anaj and the Jain Samaj of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Bolaram. We would like to thank our team comprising of Mr. Dattatraya Joshi from PFA Hyderabad, Jasraj ji from Bharatiya Pranimitra Sangh, Dr. Chaitanya; Mr. Surendra Bhandari, Mr Dinesh Jain, Mr. Amit Jain and Soudharm Bhandari from GHSPCA, who have accompanied the camels to ensure safe passage to Rajasthan. Finally, a big thanks to the caregivers Suneel, Shiva, Chagan Lal and Bhagawan Das who have tirelessly been nurturing the extremely sick and weak camels.

Heartwarming rescues such as this reinforce our faith in humanity and makes more determined to carry forward this fight for animal rights in India.

Our vision: A world where social sanction would deter violations of animal rights, where animals and environment are understood and accepted as being an intrinsic link of the chain of life.

The volunteer trip to help the rescued camels at Turmamidi village was a great success!! We would like to thank all the donors who supported the cause and helped us arrange medicines, tents, torch lights and animal feed. The camels happily chomped on the nutritious food and the volunteers were happy to be around these beautiful innocent creatures! Here are some pictures from the trip!

If you wish to support us in this cause, here is the nutritional requirement of the camels:

We need at least 2,000 kgs each of two varieties of camel feed, called Kutti (straw powder mixed with nutrients, ideal food for camels) and Bhoosa (consists of straw powder only). 1 kilogram of kutti costs about 50 rs and 1 kilogram of bhoosa costs around 30-40 rs. You can pick up 1 Quintal bags of these at Jiyaguda, Hyderabad at around Rs.3000-4000.

We request our supporters to contribute as per their capacity and help us collect the food and medicines. You can drop off food/meds at the PFA rescue home at Afzalgunj or we can provide transportation to pick them up from your locality.

Please contact us on 93915 38098 in case of any queries.

87 camels that were being taken for slaughter were rescued by PFA Hyderabad team led by Executive Officer Mr. Dattatraya Joshi; at Turumamidi village under Bantwaram police station jurisdiction and mandal Ranga Reddy District yesterday. Special thanks to GSPCA, Bharatiya Prani Mitra Sangh and other senior volunteers like Srinivas Rao and Shantilalji.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused, who are middlemen from Mansatour town, Madhya Pradesh, who made the camels travel on foot all the way from Rajasthan to Hyderabad, to sell them for slaughter at the meat markets. The police custody of the animals has been granted to PFA. On Saturday, Vikarabad junior first class magistrate sent the 9 accused camel handlers to Cherlapally jail in remand for two weeks.

Illegal transportation of camels is a violation of IPC section 429, PC Act and Transport rules. The Rajasthan Camel (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Bill, 2015 makes causing injury to camel punishable. Camel slaughter is punishable for up to five years and monetary fine.. Camel meat is not a notified item of food, as per the provisions of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act.

This adds another victory to PFA Hyderabad, who had rescued 63 camels last year as well, and transported them against all odds, all the way from Hyderabad to Rajasthan.

To donate towards transportation of these beautiful creatures back to their homeland, their upkeep and rehabilitation, please contact 7337450641 or make a direct transfer of funds to our bank account:
